I keep talking about spring but it’s been kind of slow in coming. Maybe that's what spring is - some glorious sunshine, but plenty of gray skies and rain. I was in Richmond this past weekend where the weather was 60° but the drizzle and wind made it feel much colder. I mean, 60° is still pretty chilly when the sun is not shining. Whether it's freezing cold, or just a little chilly, hats help.

Hats help regulate your body temperature.  I'm sure you've heard that some large portion of our body heat escapes through our head.  I hadn’t thought to bring a hat, but I wish I had.

Not one of my wintery hats, but something that felt like springtime.  Somethign a little bit lacy.

I remembered this hat by my favorite, Tanis Gray.  She's an awesome designer, and she did this hat back in the dark ages. A free pattern for a lacy (but not too lacy) hat.

Mary, of course, whipped one up with her magic wands (they're actually knitting needles, but in her hands, they might as well be magic wands).

Perfect. I loved it so much I had to have one just like it.  Well, almost just like it. I needed something a little more pink.  Something that would go with my favorite pink coat.

This color reminds me of cherry trees, tulips. and all the spring blossoms rolled into one.
You like?  We have tons of glorious colors, and we're doing a knitalong for the hat. It's so quick you can knit it up in a weekend - even if you don't have Mary's magic wands.
Join us Saturday, March 16 at 11am for this fun project.  Bring US size 8 and 10 16" circular needles. Heck, just bring all the 16" circulars you have. You never know what you might actually need.
You can get the yarn there, but you might want to order ahead because we only have a few skeins of each of these fabulous limited edition colors.
See you then!
